Draft
Draft is one of the most important steps in
your writing process. Any type of paper starts with draft
and only after every possible idea is included in the rough
draft you can move on to the next level. Draft is a sort of
sketch of your future essay which can gather all thoughts
and ideas relevant or even irrelevant to your topic. It is a
stage of putting all collected information on paper in order
to identify which parts will stay and what needs to go.
Usually drafts are written with a help of an
outline, although it is a common practice to change and skip
some points as you start writing. It is okay to begin your
essay from composing the body and not the introduction. When
it is done you will have a better understanding of how you
want to capture reader’s attention in the opening paragraph.
Once you draft is ready you might decide that
it is completely and utterly wrong. Do not judge your rough
draft as if it was a final paper rather “sleep on it”. Allow
yourself at least one day of rest from your paper and reread
it with a fresh head. It will make more sense and chaotic
structure of the draft will take a more organized form once
you start correcting it. You will notice all the unnecessary
ideas and sentences in your draft and change them with more
appropriate ones.
Clearly you will have to come back to your
paper one more time for the proofreading session. It is
always a good idea to look at it with a fresh eye and let
someone else to do the same. Your essay will be better with
proper grammar, coherent sentences and solid evidence. Such
impressive result could be positively reached with the help
of steps described above.
